The inaugural awards led by Six One Indie kicks off at 4pm PT/7pm ET (US time) on December 19th and the lineup looks STACKED.
Featuring indie titles from all genres of gaming, the categories and nominations were announced on Tuesday 19th of November and we were super hyped to see a few titles we know, as well a couple that Ellie interviewed at SXSW Sydney 2024 (Article out TOMORROW).
As you can probably tell by... Well, this entire website, Indie games and the developers behind them mean a lot to us. It is their passion that drives gaming forward beyond the rinse and repeat nature that is AAA.
Being part of the content and streaming community, we're also involved in the wider gamer community and truthfully, it's the quality work and stories told by these indie devs that have everyone in a proper state analyzing, theorizing and fan-fictioning their games, like how Twitter has been absolutely ablaze about Mouthwashing since release (oh look, they got a nomination - AND Tanuki wrote a review about it).
Enough sappy stuff - The brainchild of Six One Indie, an outlet that describes themselves on Facebook as: "... a games outlet working towards delivering a new take on indie amplification through indie spotlights and in-depth commentary on the indie gaming and development scene," and have already accomplished a lot with their Six One Indie Showcase, The Indie Game Awards is a new entry to their spotlighting efforts and we couldn't be more excited!
15 categories including Game Of The Year, 88 nominations (with more to be announced), 15 presenters and 28 judges, "stacked", I think, was the correct choice of word.
